Celebrating The First Series of The Vagina Monopod

When actors Sacha Parkinson (Coronation Street and Mr Selfridge) and Molly Wright (Our Girl) came to us with an idea for a podcast based on their brand The Vagina Monoblogs, The Vagina Monopod was born (see what we did there?!). We jumped at the chance to help them make a podcast to raise awareness of women’s gynaecological health and fight stigma and break taboos around the subject. We ask all our clients what they want to achieve with their podcasts and Sacha and Molly’s answer was simple… For women to understand more about their bodies than they did before they listened.

Across the 10 part series, Sacha and Molly discuss menstrual and gynaecological health openly and honestly with the hope of encouraging more people to do the same thing. Covering subjects such as period poverty, early menopause and pregnancy & motherhood, they dive deep into understanding all aspects of women’s health in a compassionate, informative and sometimes very funny way. And that’s one of the things we love here at Sound Rebel…creating podcasts that not only sound slick with great audio quality but also covering topics that can actually make a difference to people’s lives. Professional podcast production isn’t just a business to us, it’s about developing meaningful relationships with our clients and making the whole process enjoyable.

In our initial meeting with Sacha and Molly - as with all new clients we produce podcasts for - we discussed all aspects of our podcast production services, from music to voiceovers, episode notes to editing. All of these services are bespoke to you. Some clients won’t require a voiceover or may already have their own original music when starting a podcast but this is all worked out in our development meetings before we even think about touching a mic! Sound Rebel isn’t a one size fits all podcast production company – we like to work out exactly what our clients do and don’t require and build our packages from there.

Speaking about The Vagina Monopod, series producer Ben Anderson said “we tackled some really serious subjects but made sure they were presented in an accessible way that was as far away from the dry, boring biology lessons you get in school as possible. For me, this is podcast that on the surface is aimed at women, but an important listen for men too. I learned A LOT producing this one and gained a new appreciation for what women have to go through.”

And for what the listeners thought, here are just some of the many 5 star reviews on Apple…

“Love it love it love it. Listened in the car, it’s like having your best girlfriends along for the ride. Informed and informative, I’m learning so much from this fabulous podcast”

“An incredibly fun and engaging podcast! It is so refreshing listening to the girls talk so openly and honestly about our ladyhood – empowering everyone to celebrate their private parts”

“Well informed and personable hosts, presenting facts in a very engaging way”

We loved working on this one, and stay tuned for news of Series 2!
