New Podcast Launch: Keep Real’s Mental Health Stories
We are delighted to announce that Keep Real, a social enterprise based in Yorkshire that supports better mental health in the community, have partnered with Sound Rebel to create a ten-part podcast series called Keep Real: Mental Health Stories!
Keep Real make mental health intervention and support more accessible across the UK, and embark on a number of activities from delivering stress management workshops to creating live music events. They provide safe spaces to encourage conversation around mental health and are now expanding this through their new podcast production.
When you’re starting a podcast, the most important thing to think about is the audience – who are they, how do you want them to feel after listening to your podcast, and what do you want them to do once they’ve heard it?
We created an interview format for Keep Real, where the founder Kim Robinson invites guests from different backgrounds and industries on to the podcast to discuss their experiences with their own mental health. This variation in guests is hugely important to the format – at some point in our lives we may all struggle with our mental health, and it’s essential that people feel as if they are able to open up and talk about it.
Guests for the first series of Keep Real: Mental Health Stories will include Josh Adams from the band Venus Demilo who will discuss his experiences with health anxiety, former Hollyoaks actress Jess Ellis (who also hosts the Sound Rebel original podcast production Dilemmas with Jess Ellis) will discuss work anxiety, personal trainer Richie Swan (from the Sound Rebel podcast A Girl & A Gay In The Gym) will talk about the link between physical and mental health, and the author Fiona Thomas will be featuring on the podcast to talk about her latest book, Out Of Office.
At Sound Rebel we help our clients with everything when it comes to starting a podcast, from idea development all the way through to distribution to all of the major podcast apps like Apple Podcasts, Spotify and Google Podcasts.
We are looking forward to working with Keep Real on this new podcast production as podcasting perfectly lends itself to what Keep Real are trying to achieve: to encourage people to talk about mental health in an aim to remove the stigma around it.
