Back To School

So, the kids are back to school and summer is officially over. Shout out to the rain for making that abundantly clear! With the new academic year comes a new series for Sound Rebel with King Edward’s School Birmingham who have just signed up to run podcasts with us throughout the whole of the next school year.

 In this podcast, our director Ben interviews Old Edwardians from both King Edward’s and King Edward’s High School for Girls and finds out what they did with their lives after they left school. And this is a special one for Ben as this is his old school! 

Previous guests include film directors, entrepreneurs, a doctor working on the frontline of the COVID pandemic in Canada, a comedian, a crossword compiler, teachers, a Guardian journalist, a lawyer, a worldwide best-selling author and even a Dame of the Realm! We find it so interesting to see the different paths these former students have taken and to hear the stories of the journeys that lead them there. 

One of the aims of the podcast is to inspire current students when it comes to their career decisions. To show that there are so many options available to them, as proven by the vast array of jobs and careers that the school's alumni have gone on to do. The podcast isn’t just for the students though, as obviously that impressive list of highly successful guests is a great advert for the school, and helps in their mission of raising money for the school’s assisted places scheme.

We love producing this for King Edward’s, not just because Ben is an old student and enjoys giving something back to his former school but because it’s helping to inspire a whole new generation of people who could go on to do wonderful things in the world. And you never know, one of them could even be the next big thing in podcasts!
