New Podcast Launch: Leave You Breathless
There’s nothing we love quite like launching a new podcast, and that’s exactly what we did with Leave You Breathless at the beginning of January. As soon as we started speaking to Sophie Grace Holmes’ management last year we knew this would be a special one. Sophie was born with cystic fibrosis – a life limiting lung condition – and at age 16 was told she had just 2 years to live. Now aged 30, she’s not only exceeded expectations but absolutely blown them out of the water!
Since receiving that awful prognosis, the fitness and strength coach has gone on to scale Mont Blanc, Mount Kilimanjaro and Grand Paradiso, hike the Himalayas, compete in ultra marathons, fitness competitions and complete numerous other huge challenges. Sophie credits fitness with saving her life and is a huge advocate for the power of the mind over the body. And that’s what she wanted to share with her listeners.
Alongside Sophie’s story, we hear from guests who have also overcome huge obstacles in their lives and gone on to do amazing things because they had the strength of mind to push themselves to defy the odds that were stacked against them.
Guests in this series include Josh Landmann who is paralysed from the waist down after hitting his head on the bottom of a pool in Ibiza and is now aiming to become a Paralympian. Livvy Tom, aka the Crossfit nurse, who has worked on an intensive care ward treating patients with Covid throughout the pandemic and Nick Talbot who is the only man with cystic fibrosis to ever summit Mount Everest.
The aim of the podcast is that through these amazing stories the listener leaves feeling inspired and knowing that wonderful things can come from the darkest of days and that you really can achieve anything you set your mind to.
We’re already halfway through the 10-part series and we already don’t want it to end! Definitely one to listen to if you’re aiming to smash those goals – however big or small – in 2022!
